And after the Brits, here are the Wehrmacht forces I assembled for Crossfire.
My German forces are specular to the British: three Rifle Platoons of three squads each and a Platoon Commander; two HMGs; a Forward Observer; a Company Commander |
All minis by Italeri, 1/72. I'm planning on purchasing a tank to use in some scenarios |
The uniforms here are from the first years of the war: so, they're not quite good for 1944-45. However, I think for now I'll use them as Germans throughout the entire conflict. Italeri though has some nice miniature sets with German forces in winter uniforms, perfect for Ardenne or other late battles |
The Company Commander is once more from Irregular Miniatures |
Since we are here, take a look on the next army... |
Italian Mountain Troops: the Alpini! |
The Alpini fought in different war scenarios, even with a hot environment like in Greece. However, I chose to distinguish them by adding some snow to the bases, also because in this Italeri set there are a couple of soldier skiing (and they're too nice not to use them) |
"But... is he throwing an apple?" 🍎 A common Italian grenade during WWII was the Breda mod. 35, which has this iconic red colour. I thought it was a nice variation on the usual metal grenades |
